Taylor and I should make a list of the dozens of hurdles we've jumped through with this process; it's starting to seem almost comical. The buyers on our townhouse are anything but slow and steady; it's like a game of red light, green light. We have a few minor post-inspection electrical repairs to make on the townhouse (after a 3 1/2 hour home inspection), and then we plan to close April 8th. Even though the buyers aren't moving in until June, they're not willing to lease back to us for a few weeks. Thank you Papa for taking our family in for the next 1 - 4 weeks, and thank you Grammy for taking our dogs!
We do all of our banking and insurance through USAA. After talking to them for a month about buying a home, we just learned that the earliest they can close is May 2nd! Our mortgage broker says we shouldn't worry. Closing with a new lender in a few weeks won't be an issue at all. Now we just need to get Fannie Mae on board. They said they can close between 4/14 and 4/27, but they cannot yet commit.
Fannie Mae is de-winterizing the Bay Tree house for us on Monday. On Tuesday we'll go over to meet with the inspector, appraiser, shutter and blinds lady and the pool guy. On Wednesday we move our family in with Papa, Thursday the movers put our stuff in storage and on Friday we close.
Before all that, I am SO excited about going to the Final Four games!!! We have an exciting week ahead of us.
