Meal Time Giggle Box

The last video best depicts what our normal meals look like. The first video is definitely the funniest. Brady uses his pointer finger to poke food back into his mouth. Taylor immitated him one day and Brady thought it was hilarious.

Big Walker

After practicing his walking in the baby pool, we tried Brady's walking skills on land. As you may remember from our previous post, Brady would forget to move his feet forward. I think he's moving past that phase now, and we're starting to see real walking! Our little boy's getting so big!

Heidelberg Year 1

Taylor grew up going to the Heidelberg Lodges every summer. We visited the Robinson's lodge for a few days in 2007 and decided to make it a family tradition. We skipped last year because I was about 37 weeks pregnant (Brady was born at 39 weeks). We had a lot of fun this year. I hope that next year I'll do a better job of getting photos of the whole crew; we were quite consumed with our little Brady.

Our favorite things about our trip this year (in no particular order)

Rowan wearing her Mimi's hat and hollywood sunglasses.
Westin dancing to Ice Ice Baby.
Brynn and Brady practice walking in the baby pool.
Getting better acquainted with the Smith family and their 9 mo. old.
Relaxing in the shade and cooling off in the Comal River.
Shopping at the San Marcos outlet mall.
Sam's fresh peach daiquiris.
Breakfast pastries from Naegilin's, the oldest bakery in Texas.
Discovering the fabulous BBQ at Coopers.
Brady learning to walk in the baby pool.
Knocking down cups with Brady.
Having wine, a cheese platter and local brats at Huisache Grill.

Snort, Kiss, Bababa

Chasing Waterfalls

Brady normally takes a bath while Taylor showers in the morning. While Taylor was at work this morning, I decided to give Brady a bath. It's been awhile since we've taken good bath pictures. There's nothing quite as sweet as those chubby little baby bodies and their sheer fascination with water.

Go 'stros

Last night we went to the Astro's vs. Nationals game with Brett and Allison. Here are a few pictures. It was cute to see Brady clapping with the crowd.

Oooh Snuggle Puppy

For Valentine's Day, Grammy Pammy got a book for Brady titled Snuggle Puppy. It's about a parent who sings to their child:

Oooh snuggle puppy of mine
Everything about you is especially fine
I love who you are, and I love what you do
Oooh snuggle puppy, I love you!
I frequently sing this little song to Brady right before I lay him down in his crib, next to his favorite big dog. When I came to get him in the morning, he was snuggled up close to his puppy.

Changing Challenged

Brady twists and turns like a wild man when we try to change his diaper or clothes. He also does his squinty eyed face while Taylor snaps photos.

Deja Vu

I know you're thinking, "Didn't they just post pictures of the REPAIR for this leak?" The answer is, "Nope. This is a NEW leak." Our living room leak (previous post) was from my neighbor's 3rd floor air handling unit. THIS leak is a pinhole leak in our 1965 plumbing pipe above Brady's bathroom sink. Maria came to clean our house today and did an excellent job cleaning up the plumber's mess. Now we just have to wait for the ceiling to be patched.
I restrained myself on the last post, but I feel compelled to mention that our favorite paint and drywall man is a very nice African American man named Bob Ealy. His full name is Robert Ealy, which sounds like Robert E Lee... How could it be?! I'm still perplexed...

Tooth Watch: The Sequel

Brady's second tooth just popped through, and it's on the top. It looks like a few more are almost ready to make an appearance soon. We'll keep the Oragel and camera on hand for any further developments. PS Brady's funny smile laugh face is because I'm blowing rasberries on feet. It got his mouth open for the money shot!

New PJ's

We bought Brady a new pair of PJ's. The pants kept sliding off; we have awhile before he's big enough. The last picture shows Brady peaking through his highchair at the camera - I love those eyes.

More adventures in eating

I feel like we have a lot of videos of Brady eating. He's always doing something new and quarky, so I want to share. At daycare, Brady's supposed to be eating solid foods instead of baby food. Miss Ruby seemed disappointed that we haven't been "breaking him in" at home. I've been feeding him baby food and then I let him snack on whatever I'm eating. Last night was the first time he didn't have baby food with his meal. I made spinach quesadillas and roasted carrots. I know it's an odd combination, but attention to food pairing is a little beyond me at this point. This morning, Brady ate Cheerios, cheesy scrambled eggs and banana.

Sofafun!

Our white rug, new furniture arrangement, pillows, etc. were inspired by our need for new couches. The new couches arrived on Tuesday, which was a very pleasant surprise. We expected them to arrive in late July. After our wall leak, we also had to rehang all the pictures on the wall (again). It's quite a chore. Once again, Taylor did a great job! It's good to have our living room back together again.

Pirates Beach

Sherry, Sam and Sara bought this house in May 2008. They survived Ike the following September. With a lot of paint, clean up and renovation, they were ready to host lunch for us on the 3rd of July. Thanks for having us over!

It's a girl!

My mom hosted a little shower to help Kimmy get ready for her baby girl's arrival in early October. Little girl clothes are so much fun!

Missed a Step

Somehow Brady forgets to move his feet when he walks to his Daddy.

Peek-a-boo!
