Sick Update

I went an entire week without my IV fluids. I felt pretty good over the weekend and had hoped this would be my last week at home. My body and the baby had something different in mind. On Tuesday I started doing worse and yesterday they started my IV fluids again. As discouraging as it is to relapse, I'm glad I had a cheerful break from the nausea.
Megan came over on Tuesday and then yesterday she and my mom came over. When they come over, Brady's starting to prefer them over me. I'm sad to see the need for mommy wane, but I'm glad that he's growing closer to Grammy and Megan (especially since I'm not able to play with Brady very much). Megan was flipping Brady yesterday. After each flip he would say, "Again?" It makes me want to call her Aunt Magain : )
Hopefully I'll be able to take a few pictures this weekend to finally make a photo post... it's been too long.

Sick, Sick, Sick

I'm 10 weeks pregnant today. Nausea and pregnancy hormones are supposed to peak from weeks 9 - 12, so every week survived during that period really feels like a triumph. This week Taylor and I went to the OB and got to see the baby's heartbeat again. I also had to go to the dentist for a tooth that chipped, which really hurts when you're sick all the time. With all this extra activity (it may not sound like much, but I didn't leave the house at all last week), I decided to try acupuncture for my nausea. It's really helped me a lot. I still feel sick, but I'm able to hold down some normal foods.
I'm afraid my illness has taken a toll on Taylor. They've been really short staffed at work, so he's had to carry a heavier load there and at home. I feel so blessed to have a husband who works so hard and rises to the challenge. I also feel blessed for a good job with great health benefits and disability insurance. I'm hoping that in 2 more weeks, I'll be able to return to a relatively normal life.

Brady's Second Second Birthday Party

Mommy has started her "I'm growing a beautiful healthy baby and he/she is making me really sick" phase, so Daddy is making the latest post. Below are some pictures from Brady's second second birthday. This one was so much easier since all the hard parts were done the day before. Brady is so blessed to have so many people that love him. Thanks to everyone for sharing this special day with us.

Below is the party favor (filled with homemade cookies) Michelle designed and made (with a little help from me) for all of our guests. With all of the fun we forgot to give some of them out as people left, so if you did not get one we apologize but it is too late, Brady and Daddy have eaten all the cookies.

Brady's First Second Birthday Party

We can't fit too many people in our house at once, so we had a party Saturday and another one on Sunday. This is the Saturday party.
Brady loved playing with Daniel and the Cookie Monster Puppet.
Grandma and Grandpa
Phillip and Allison (Brett had to work).
Jeffrey and Christina
The Dachs before and after cupcakes.
Brady liked the cupcakes; he wore the evidence on this face.
Brady wasn't very excited about the Happy Birthday song or blowing out the candle.
Jeffrey's girlfriend's son, Aaron (3 years old), plays with Brady.

Pappaw's Guitar

Brady uses a slide to play the guitar with Pappaw.
Pappaw took a job in Paris and now has an apartment in Sceaux, about 7km outside of Paris. For his first year away, he can only be in the States for 30 days a year. In short, we're very grateful for the few days we get to spend with Pappaw.
