Splish Splash
What goes up must come down
Since Brady has started pulling himself up, he seems to hurt himself more frequently. I made him this little bag of ice, and he seemed miraculously cured. I should probably ignore the falls more often. He seems to be perfectly fine.

Chase the Dog Dog
I generally try to keep the videos around 30 - 60 seconds, but this is a long one... sorry... When we get home from work and daycare, the whole Bacot family is excited to be together again (dogs included). Playing chase with Brady and Bailey is one of our favorite games. At the end of the video, Brady is looking at Bailey and saying dog. This is probably the second or third time that Brady has looked and said "dog", but he calls every thing dadadad or dododod. It's hard to know if this is really a first word, but I like that we caught it on video.
Some of you may notice that something about this video is very strange. Over the holiday weekend, we got a new rug and rearranged the furniture in the living room. This created a lot more play space and a better toy zone for Brady.

Adventures in Eating
Periodically, we've tried to give Brady Cheerios or the little Gerber Graduate Puffs (we call them stars). Historically, he swallows immediately and gags. This week I tried again by giving Brady 1/3 of one star, and he did great! I think he's really starting to get the hang of it. Yah for stars!
Brady started holding his own bottle when he was about 6 months. I think this helped him operate the sippy cup, but he's still not completely grasping the idea that he should be drinking.
Evolution of Baby: Standing Upright
Brady's getting more comfortable standing up without us holding him, though he still needs the support of the couch or a table top toy like the one shown here. I love this new thing he's doing with his bottom lip. He also sticks his tongue out when he's concentrating on pulling himself up (Taylor does the same thing when he's concentrating on something athletic).
We're getting close to bed time in this photo. Since Brady was around 3 months, he's done this laugh-cry thing as he starts to get tired or upset. You can get a taste of that in this video.

Meal Time
These videos were taken a few weeks ago. Videos take longer to download, cut and then upload than regular photos, so I tend to get behind. The second video just shows Brady eating. I know it's a bit boring, but I think it's funny how Brady clenches his fists after each bite. You would think he was eating something really tart, but I think this particular video shows him eating Rice and Lentils - VERY mild.
Taylor and I rarely eat in the dining room. I thought that having Brady would change all of that. As you can see, we've begun to bring his high chair into the living room for dinner. Being able to talk or watch TV comfortably while we feed him helps us to be more patient with the breaks he likes to take. Also, Brady loves to look out onto the patio during mealtime. Moving him away from the window helps his concentration.

A day with the Smoters
Brady the Dog Lover
Somehow most of my videos of Brady show him interacting with the dogs. He loves both of the dogs, but he loves Bailey the most. I would say Daisy is more fond of Brady than Bailey, but they all seem to get along well. Can you believe how quickly my little baby moves to play with his dogs?! Our neighbors, Rita and Ezra, gave him the big plush dog. I'm glad that Brady can grab, pet and bite this dog with no potential consequences. Our dogs are very trustworthy, but Brady is a bit rough with them sometimes.
