Helping Out Around the House

Over the weekend, Brady stood on a chair by the sink to help me wash fresh spinach and spin it in the salad spinner. Shortly thereafter, Taylor repaired a lot of the drawer tracks in our kitchen, and Brady was very interested in helping.

MomBee!

Taylor and I got a Mac a few weeks ago, so I've spent most of my computer time learning a new computer. We've had to download some freeware to transfer old videos and get the Flip camera to behave. A lot of really easy things take me awhile to figure out, because I tend to overcomplicate it. For example, I'm not exactly sure how to save videos vs. projects in iMovie... any suggestions from my Mac friends? Here's a video clip where we finally recorded Brady saying MomBee... melts my heart every time.
Brady and I are joining Grammy, Megan and Sara on a Caribbean cruise out of Galveston. We leave in 3 weeks, and I'm finally starting to feel like I'm mentally ready. We booked our excursions which took a lot of thought, and we made a few important purchases (replacing a ripped suit case, a formal outfits for both of us, swimsuits, etc.). Now we just need to take Brady to the barber... his hair's getting so long!

A Wallet in my Pocket

Brady really wanted to play with Taylor's wallet. I put it in his back pocket and took a few pictures. It was pretty tough, but he eventually got it out.
Aunt Megan and Brady listen to her iPod and eventually fall asleep. I caught this pic of Megan before she actually fell asleep; ain't she cute? Brady's quite fond of his Aunt Megan.

Peter Pan

I feel like I've been a little quiet on the blog front, so I thought I would make a quick post. Taylor and Brady are watching Peter Pan. Brady laughs out loud during the part where the Father trips over the blocks and all the children run to Nana (the canine nanny).

I think we've entered the time out era. Brady kept stalking Daisy and hitting her, while I repeatedly told him to stop. I finally picked him up and set him on the first step of the stairs. As soon as I set him down, he realized he was in time out and began to cry. I guess the school must have some form of time out. I let him sit there for about 20 seconds. As soon as he cleared up a bit, I told him to go play and leave Daisy alone. We hugged and then he went and played like a good boy. He makes me feel like a good parent.

Later on, he was slapping the computer. I asked him to stop 2 - 3 times before I finally said, "If you touch the computer again, you're going to time out". It worked like magic! Supernanny would be proud.

Brady has really become Mama's boy lately. He points to me a says, "Mom-BEEEE" repeatedly. If he's sitting in my lap, he leans in to kiss me and then throws his head back in laughter. I wish I could get it on video. I'll post new pictures and videos soon. For now, I'm going to cuddle with my family and watch Peter Pan... and think of a wonderful thought : )

Potty Seat

Brady whispered, "poo poo", so we put him on top of his new potty seat.
Brady really liked the first time we put him on a potty seat, but this time he was eager to get off. You can see him putting his hands in the air to tell us he's done.
We thought Brady may want some privacy to take care of his business, so we left him alone. I snuck the Flip camera around the corner to spy on him. We have yet to see number 1 or 2 in the potty, for now it's just another place to play.
